xcrun: error: invalid active developer path

Nov. 27, 2015

After a recent upgrade to El Capitan. I found was a bit perplexed when I attempted to run the git command I received the following error:

xcrun: error: invalid active developer path (/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools), missing xcrun at: /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/xcrun

After scratching my head for a minute I realized the solution to the problem Reinstall XCODE. After doing this the problem should be fixed. Hopefully this saves someone somewhere some time.
